Financial Advisor

Shortly after graduating from college, Michael began working in the financial services industry. In 1983, Michael started his career with a Wall Street-based investment firm in New London, Connecticut. At the age of 26, he was promoted to branch manager and established an office in St. Louis, Missouri. After a few years, he decided that management was not for him (and he hasn't touched Maalox since!). He also missed working directly with people and experiencing the relationships that develop. Michael and his wife decided to move back to Connecticut to start their family, and he resumed working directly with people to help make a difference in their financial lives.

Michael earned a BS in economics from Southern Connecticut State University. He received his Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®) designation and his Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®) designation from The American College. He also has his Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist® (CRPS®) from the College for Financial Planning and his LUTCF designation from the Life Underwriters Training Council and National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. Michael has been a certified instructor for the continuing education (CE) courses that allow licensed individuals to meet the Connecticut-mandated CE requirements.

Michael is a current member and past president of the Montville Rotary Club. He is a past president of the Waterford Rotary Club. Michael is past president (twice) of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors of New London County.

In his spare time, Michael liked coaching sports—now he tries to relax and watch. He has coached for more than 20 years in various sports at multiple levels. He most recently retired as the assistant varsity lacrosse coach and head JV coach at Montville High School. He coached high school lacrosse for five years and was one of the main forces in getting lacrosse at Montville High School. Michael also coached high school football for six years. He was past president and coach for Montville Little League. He has coached youth soccer, basketball, and football throughout the years in Montville. In his second year as head coach of the Montville Youth Football senior team, Michael received a National Youth Football coaching award for bringing a team that was winless for two years to the championship game for the first time in 26 years. He was also one of the founding members of Montville Youth Lacrosse, bringing lacrosse to the town of Montville. Michael holds a Connecticut coaching certificate, which is required for all coaches for high school sports.

Michael was raised and lives in Montville with his wife, Karen, and sons, Ryan and Kevin.
